We are looking for an experienced gear grinder for helical and spur gears. Must have detailed knowledge about gear geometry, part fixturing, and grinding process parameters.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Generate gear grinding programs working from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Assist with tool design & build.
• Set up and operate CNC gear grinding equipment.
• Make process adjustments.
• Input information on production summary reports and fill out hours on job time tickets.
• Perform preventative maintenance/cleaning of machines per schedule.
• Operation of other plant equipment as needed.
• Ensure adequate inventory of grinding tools is on-hand.

Position Requirements & Qualifications:

• Must be able to understand gear charts and make process corrections to meet engineering requirements.
• Must have good communication skills and be willing to work in a team environment.
• 5 years or more experience, focused on grinding.
• Ability to perform gear geometry calculations.
• Knowledge of gear manufacturing processes and capabilities.
• Detailed knowledge of gear geometry, tolerances, and analysis.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.

Duties:
• Manage and organize the daily operation of the grinding department
• Schedule daily line ups of each grinding operator
• Strategize upcoming jobs with other department supervisors
• Review assembly drawings and check fit dimensions
• Create and maintain a production schedule
• Operate grinders
• Create strategy to prevent a repetition of the rework and scrap
• Assist in building assemblies
• Inspect parts and critical measurements for various departments

• Perform calibrations for correction & compensation of machine geometry errors.
• Perform functions/tests and any other relevant work to ensure a quality calibration.
• Responsible for assuring that all calibrations are performed in accordance to ISO 17025 standard and Tarus Quality procedures.
