TARUS wins the "Manufacturer of the Year" at the 11th annual 2023 Macomb Business Awards ceremony.

Located in Sterling Heights since the mid-1980s, TARUS is a proud member of the Macomb County manufacturing community and is one of the few manufacturers of very large volume, high-precision 5-axis CNC machines in the United States.

With a rich history of innovation spanning over 50 years, TARUS has become a global leader in the machine tool industry with machines that span applications in transportation design, mold & die, aerospace, automotive, defense and military, oil & gas, and power generation.

David Greig, CEO of TARUS states "As a vertically integrated manufacturer, we're very proud of our range of manufacturing capabilities. We build highly complex machines and TARUS does everything in-house. We start with raw materials and every process is done internally from design, engineering, software development, machining, weld, fabrication, paint, and assembly. Then our service team installs our machines and provides service to customers around the globe. Not many manufacturers who produce machines as complex as we do have this range of capability."

"Macomb County is the global epicenter for Advanced Manufacturing and known as 'Automation Alley'. For TARUS to be recognized by this community is a tremendous honor that we are humbled by" states George Cook, VP of Sales and Marketing.

Among dozens of industry innovations, TARUS created its own CNC control in the 1970s. TARUS produced a computer GUI a full two years before Apple introduced the GUI in personal computing. In 1984 TARUS invented the Claymill, changing transportation design forever. For the full innovation timeline, please click here.
